Clark Canyon?
#1
My Dad and I are going to head up to Clark Canyon Reservoir for the first time ever later this week. Does anybody have any tips for us? Where to fish? Bait? Lures? Any help would be great, thanks.

Was just there yesterday for the first time. We found the most ice huts were on the west side and we talked to a few people and the best fishing has been in 10 feet of water or less for trout and about 25 feet of water for ling. The ling fishing has been really slow and will not pick up until late January early February. Everyone we talked to were using the smallest jig possible in green, orange, or white. We picked up one brown and one rainbow and both were 18". The brown was caught on a green paddle bug and the rainbow was a little green jig with silver glitter. Both were tipped with a mealworm. Jigging them seemed to help in the morning and a dead stick in the afternoon. Take a shelter the wind was cold and brutal most of the day.

I'm headed there right now. Going to fish until daylight tomorrow. Was up there a couple weeks ago and we caught 3 trout and limited out on ling by midnight. We were on the north end. I'll report back tomorrow with what we end up with

My Dad and I fished Clark yesterday from 8:00 until 2:00. We landed 7 trout and 1 ling. We did get one nice 23 inch rainbow. We lost a few others as well. The only thing we could get them to bite was a good old night crawler. We were fishing in about 15' of water off the little island that you can now drive to by lone tree.

Just got back from fishing last night. We started fishing about 2pm and left the ice at midnight with a limit of ling. Nothing huge but decent fish. 19 inches of ice but the shore ice where we got on was bad in spots. Had to drive around a little to find a place to get on the ice with the wheelers.

Thanks for the reports, I think we'll head up on Friday and give it a try. Saw some pictures of some monster bows caught up there this fall that have been haunting me. Looking at the regs, looks like I'll need to put identification on the outside of my shelter, 3 trout and 3 ling only one over 28 inches. Any other rules I need to know about?
