At the dam there is no access for snowmobile. There is a parking spot only big enough for a few vehicles, and a small opening in the fence barely big enough for a sled. It's not really a long walk across the dam, just a sort of steep slippery climb down to the lake on the other side, especially with low water. The other end is good for a snowmobile, and a super long walk in deep snow without one. You basically park next to the highway and travel down an unplowed gravel road to the lake. The quickest way to get to either end is up Fairview canyon from the town of Fairview. To go to the North end you turn left at the top of the canyon onto the highway that goes over to Scofield. To go to the dam end you stay on the Fairview canyon highway and it goes over the top, by Huntington reservior, then by Cleveland reservoir, then to Electric Lake dam.
