2013 fish of the year
#1
I almost forgot the annual fish of the year thread. SO lets see your 2013 fish of the year.
This year I am posting another pontoon Sturgeon pic and a cat of the year pic. I didn't get a pic of my biggest sturgeon. The cat was 32" long. Ron

Something about the Kracken and the stories of sturgeon tipping over boats makes me nervous with having a float tube int he water.

And one died, so I got myself a birthday present. It's a skin mount of a 5.4 lb.

My two fish of the year.. Was hard to pick.. But these two take the cake.. My biggest carp on the fly rod 31" mirror on my 5wt. And the biggest channel I've caught yet. Not sure on length.

Here's my best, 28" rainbow I caught out of IP in December. Not only is it a thrill to catch a fish like that, catching it through the ice on UL gear made it even better. 2013 was a great year. I'm excited for 2014. [fishon]

My fish of the year were a bunch of fishes that my wife and I caught at Ririe at the end of the year. Haven't seen this quality of perch on our side of the state in a long time.

Lake trout fishing from a float tube made the best/most enjoyable catch if 2013 for me.

Took a couple hours off from driving to fish while driving home through Stanley last spring and got these two out of the same hole. Smoked up nice.

My fish of the year has to be my brute fall chinook! My daughter landed a massive buck steelhead that's still at the taxidermist and my son landed a big native buck too.

I'll have to do best of various species. 2013 wasn't my best year for numbers, and I didn't make it out as much as usual, but I was happy with the overall quality of fish I caught.

First up, a pair of 20" largemouth I caught one afternoon at the end of August.

[inline "biggest bass small.jpg"]

I also caught a couple at 19" that day too.

I caught an 18" smallmouth, which is my best so far.

Finally, while chasing smallmouth, I caught this 30" walleye on a jerkbait.
