Just wondering if anybody has fished mud lake or market lake? Is there even any fish in either lake. A buddy goes somewhere by market lake on the south fork, and catches some dang nice perch...I am thinking I could be market lake but he aint saying.

you might be able to find some fish if you can find a water column bigger than 2 feet.

We fished mud lake in the summer. All we saw were schools of big carp out in the reeds and lots of weeds. I spent a little time standing on my pontoon catching carp as they swam the circuit. Then caught one perch right as we were leaving. Ice fishing might be better as far as the weeds go.

Ten or Fifteen years ago my father use to take us there and we used to catch masses of perch there. we did a scout trip there one winter and it was amazing. but haven't been there in years went down hill shortly there after that. was hopin that it has came back. was readin on the fish and game website that there is also a sustained population of largemouth there. and also in the early 1990's they planted tiger muskies in there. one of the last time that I ice fished it we drilled up a baby catfish that had been frozen in the ice. we were unaware of catfish in there but all three of us ( my older brother, my father, and I) all confirmed it. im not sure how it is these days I would like to go out there and shoot some of the carp that sounds fun.

Put my DVR on to record the games today and headed out to Mud Lake this afternoon. I caught a couple small perch, and a handful of chubs but nothing worth keeping or that would encourage me to return there. Got home to find that the second game had froze up and only caught the last three minutes of. Nothing better than watching a game with no commercials!
