Now that I don't have to go chase those evil chukars every weekend [cool] it's time to get the kids on some fish. It looks like we may be too late for the hard water this year, but I thought I'd see if anyone has any recent reports about the ice conditions and/or fishing at either Scofield, Fish Lake, or Utah Lake. Anyone?
Thanks,
Jeff

Haven't been to the others but about half of Utah Lake's ice is now piled up on the shores.
I expect to be out on UL this weekend.... with the boat.

As stated in another reply a lot of open water starting to show at Utah Lake and ice stacking up on the shoreline. I found a bit of open water and fished for a bit until the wind shifted and a sheet of ice moved in covering the area I was fishing. Another week and it should be almost gone.

Here's my ice condition report from yesterday's Scofield post.
[#ff0000]Ice conditions are still very good. The ice is at least 16 inches thick with a layer of frozen slush about 6 inches thick on the top. Walking and pulling a sled was no problem as the surface is mostly crusted with only a light dusting of new snow. There were some snowmobilers out today and they were running all over the lake. There is enough snow to keep the tracks cool. An ATV would work fine in the current conditions.[/#ff0000]

^^^^ What he said. It may go even faster. I've been watching the ice deteriorate and melt from my back deck for a while now. It's goin fast!
