Drive by report

Drove to Deer Creek by way of Weber canyon and Kamas.

Echo has ice over most of the North end, with some fishable water at the South end.

Rockport about the same as Echo, with some water opening up around the edges and fishable water at the South end. Launch ramp still iced in.

Jordanelle still has a lot of ice in the arm (Rockcliff) going to Kamas. Open water by the Dam and back almost to the PWC launch at Hailstone, but it is still ice bound. Didn't see the North side regular boat launch.

Deer Creek has fishable water from the Charlston bridge to the Island. Still no launch at the State Park Island ramp. South of the Island is ice bound, but open water down and around the island. Rainbow bay has fishable water on the South side and open water out near the point. There were fishermen out near the point, which is a little bit of a walk.

Didn't go further South so didn't see the Wallsburg arm. Deer Creek has more water in it than I thought it would.

Good Luck!

Does it look pretty safe to wonder around on Jordanelle by the rock cliff because I've only ice fished that lake 2 times in my life and both skunked. Heard about some good fishing the the rock cliff but I don't know what area to hit ?

I'd appreciate a pm for some hints and types.

Rock Cliff has not been the ice we are use to seeing . I haven't tried this year but don't think I would try now either . North of the Hailstone ramp would be the safest ice

Without actually checking it and drilling holes, I would not recommend going on the ice anywhere on Jordanelle.
