[#800000]Friday was another great day to be out on the ice for everybody but me (more on that in a minute). Five of us hit the ice at about 8 AM with the air temp at an invigorating 0 degrees. But the sky was severe clear and it promised to be a beautiful day.[/#800000]

[#800000]We went to the same spot where we left off last week and set up camp. It was S L O W. Everybody caught some fish, with most of them being cutthroats in the slot. We did ice about 4 nice rainbows altogether.[/#800000]

[#800000]My day started with a very sour and upset tummy at 2 AM. I was finally able to empty the contents in Heber while everybody else filled theirs. I thought I would feel better after that, but was Sadly mistaken. It got worse as the day wore on and the group said I was starting to look like death warmed over. I finally had all the fun I could stand for one day about 2 PM and we headed back home. When I got home, I went to bed and slept for 12 hours straight. Dam, that was ugly.[/#800000]

[#800000]About the ice conditions; if anything, the ice is actually a little thicker than it was last week. Last week, there was about a 2 inch gap between the frozen slush on top and the clear ice below. This week that gap was gone – frozen solid. The total thickness is somewhere between 25 and 30 inches and if the temps keep getting down to zero or below at night, that isn’t going to change for awhile. There were at least 20 people out on the ice from the marina.[/#800000]

[#0000FF]Sorry about the "grumble gut". Happened to me last November after a meal in a Brigham City coffee shop. One of Mama Nature's nasty little tricks to dampen the enjoys of a fishing trip.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and hope you are able to make up for it next week.

Zero degrees in mid March really makes ya believe in global warming.

If you would have quit ice fishing like everybody else this never would have happened[Wink]. Seriously, I hope your next trip works out better.
