Gordon called Wednesday evening wanting to take his boat out Thursday or Friday. I told him I had to mow grass and wasn't able to go. Got done mowing Friday afternoon, Gordon and I have been talking about night fishing for a while now so I called him to see if he wanted to do some night fishing. He said yes and we agreed to take my pontoon. On the water around 10:00, headed up wolftever. Saw a large group of fish on a drop off from 13 to 20FOW. Anchored down, put out the lights and no minnows showed up. Caught one, under 10". Moved on up the creek to a tree 6 FOW, put out the lights and still, no minnows. Maybe mid May, they might start drawing to the lights. Not sure... Caught 5 under10" there and I felt a rain drop. I asked Gordon if he checked the weather and he said no. I told him I didn't ether. About a minute later, the bottom fell out. emoRain We scrambled to get the top up and rode the storm out. We were soaked and we called it quits around midnight. Was talking to Muskrat the other day about, when tight lining at night the crappie swallow the hook. Told him I was going to try bobber stoppers. It worked well. None of the 5 crappie that I caught swallowed the hook. Wrote down the water temp but the paper got wet. emoBig
