Just talked to Bob at Cabin, Camp, and Home in Lewiston. Bob was just down checking out the water on the river and said it is marginally good. The rain and warmer temps have caused a pretty good runoff, but it is still fairly clear. He says the springers were running good several days ago, but it has died off. He thinks there should be improvement in a few days, but says the bulk of the run should peak mid-May. The guys at CCH are so friendly and helpful you are guaranteed to have a good experience there and learn a lot about conditions. Can't say the same thing about a similar operation on the Clarkston side. I am heading out tomorrow to fish Chinook in Lake Coeur d'Alene, and might have to give it a try on the way back if it turns on a bit. As Bob says, now is the time to be fishing; otherwise you will hear about the "great" day via wordii-of-mouth! Gotta envy Chromejunky this time of year, sitting up there on great fishing. Mike
