If you're looking for a stonefly fix, and have tomorrow or the next day free, and don't mind catching small fish, you are in for a treat. I had no idea that Birch creek contained stoneflies, but we lucked into a great hatch today. They are about a quarter of the way into the campground area so if you can make it in the next couple of days you can probably catch it. It was fun throwing big foam, though it was funny to be catching fish about five times the size of the fly! Anyhow, it was fun and was perfect for the beginner I had taken, along with my 7yo.

That's nuts, between myself and my dad we've been fishing that place for over 40 years and I've never seen an indication they are there . Pretty cool though.
