Currant Creek?
#1
Anyone fished Currant Creek reservoir lately? Is it open water?

I can't remember - if you're going to the reservoir just to fish for a day (and not camp) is there a day use fee?

Muchas gracias.

I haven't made it up there yet, so let us know if you do go.

You can access most of the lake at the fishermen trails all around the dirt road. You only need to pay the day fee if you make it to the far end at the camp grounds, boat ramp, and paved fishermen access.

Its almost time to take the boat up there and troll until I'm tired of taking fish off.

My family and I went last Sunday (5-4) and there was no sign of ice anywhere. Hardly any snow in the vicinity either. The road was in good shape, apart from three areas where rocks had tumbled down into the roadway.

The north end was a little murky with Low Pass Creek coming in muddy and the Duchesne pipe flowing in slightly off-color.

Only caught a cutthroat from the north end.

The dam was business as usual for May:

Evening bite was good using Gulp minnows.

Hardware got me nowhere.

A drowning worm got a hit for my wife, but it wasn't very productive, overall.

No minnows to be seen along the dam yet. DOH! (more Ritz for me)

It's a great time of year to hit CC from shore, so get after it. Plenty of big tigers in there to go around, although the biggest I was able to keep on the hook was only a little over 20".

Gulp minnows, 1/16oz jig head, and 4lb line. Most bites were from within 20 ft of the dam.

Dude, you rock. Thanks for the detailed report.

Did you get a chance to fish the creek at all?
