Lincoln Beach, Bird Island
#1
Been hitting the cats at BI this week. Started Tues. thinking the water temps would be up but not so. Guess the tub doesn't warm very fast. Water temp was only 53 on Tues but warmed to 57 today. Hopefully it will cross the 60 mark by Sat.

Catchin' was slow on Tues. and Wed. Only managed 3 and 6 cats each day. Was at the island today, no other fools out there, and managed 7 cats -- one 26 1/2 and the others all 1/2 inch on either side of 24 inches. All fat and healthy. No carp activity observed around island or in shallows south of launch??

Did best in close to shore by island. Cats seemed to be cruising the shore in search of grub. I'm on a first-name basis with all the birds now and other than an occasional bombing run they pretty much ignore me.

Water temp seems to go up a couple of degrees each day now so maybe 60+ by weekend. Should only get better now.

Good to hear! I swear it's taking forever for that lake to really turn on, except for those who managed walleye.
