[#0000FF]Nice work...even if you profaned it with my name.
You have done a good job of capturing the esthetics of fishing.
For future reference, there is another closely related "quote" I like to use. I credit it to a former fishing buddy long lost to the march of time and the multiple moves we have both endured since our mutually enjoyed fishing experiences. "You can fish or you can worry. But you can't fish AND worry."

Well done, Shawn. Additional edits would have been superfluous.

Thanks, Pat. That's another great fishing quote to add to my ever-growing list.
I hope to hit Starvy or some other water with you in June. I'll keep in touch.

Thank you, Raab, I did end up editing it a time or two more, but sometimes as I writer I guess I have to submit and just feel good about it.
I hope you're enjoying this great weather and catching a few fish in the process.

Great article Shawn. Offers some insight into the intangibles of fishing. For many, its a body count, scoreboard, or a nasty competition, but as you noted so eloquently, it is so much more than that. thanks, RW

Nicely done Shawn, expressed it nicely how it's not just the fish, but the experience and relationships that creates the addiction... You can tell a fisherman wrote this and not just the reporter assigned a topic to write on... well done... J

Thanks, J.
I have my day job as a writer for a software company. I write outdoors columns for The Daily Herald as a hobby/second job.
Thanks for the kind words. I do love to fish and then write about it, as so many do here.

Thanks, Owner.
So far it's been fun to report on my family's adventures in Daily Herald articles.
I guess I need to get out this holiday weekend, so I have more experiences to write about.

Well written. I only saw one thing thing I would edit (proven - past participle). I usually don't find my mistakes until they're a couple of days old.[laugh]
If you ever need a proofreader, I'm a willing spelling and grammar Nazi.

I write enough to keep my boss busy correcting all my mistakes. But she needs something to earn her pay right? Hey hit Willard this weekend it was on fire tonight. Good luck. Jeff
