Link is down. I bet that's because somebody told them that it is incorrect.
I'll be eager to know if they mean what that says - or they MEANT to say "Anyone with a license PURCHASED after July 1..."

Maybe they saw reason and gave a break to those of us who bought a license in January (for example). We won't have to wait six months to use that second pole legally.
(I'd also bet that the guys in the field won't be ticketing people using two poles without the added permit in June. Hardly makes sense unless they catch you doing something more egregious as well.)

I'm also excited to see multi-year licenses. I've often wondered why they didn't already offer them.
Good Changes all around. Props to DNR.

That is cool, but did I miss how much of a discount? Would i make more money leaving it in the bank making interest? Just a thought.
Also, would you be grandfathered in should other changes come?

A dollar a year. But you are not going to have to pay extra if the rates go up while your license is valid. Buy 5 years worth when they propose another rate hike…. hint hint.

Me and a cousin had the same discussion back in the early 90's about the lifetime license. Back then a combination license, including a deer tag, cost you $35. Interest rates were much higher, so putting $500 in the bank netted you more than the cost of a yearly license. I bought the lifetime license, he did the bank thing.....guess which one of us made the better investment!!!!! Now he pisses and moans every time I see him.[shocked]

I bought a lifetime fishing and hunting license back in 1991 or 1992. Best $500 I have ever spent.

Where is the memo on the multi-year licences? I couldn't see it on the link.
*EDIT*
Nevermind - found it in the press release.
"Starting July 1, you can buy a multi-year license that's valid for two, three, four or five years. In addition to the convenience of not having to buy a license every year, buying a multi-year license will also save you some money."
