better safe than sorry in the wind
#1
We were out on the lake Sunday with 4 wounded Warriors. One of them had two of his kids aboard. The bite was OK, but we kept moving around looking for a smokin' hot bite.
We were at Lincoln beach when the winds came up and the action was hot for channel cats and muds. It soon became apparent that it was not going to be safe to try to cross back to Provo Boat Harbor with kids aboard.
A couple of phone calls were made and ground transportation arrived to haul our passengers back to Provo boat harbor where their cars were parked. We weren't the only boaters that took this action as the docks were soon filled with boats waiting for trailers to arrive from Lindon and Provo to avoid the wild crossing.
We filleted the fish while we waited and I stayed with the boat hoping the wind would lay down, but it blew all night and is still wild out there this morning. I might have to go get the trailer today to get the big boat back if it doesn't lay down soon.
Better Safe than Sorry and she's safe and sound in the harbor of Lincoln beach. Alas, these winds will mess up the bite for a day or two!

Looks like a good day of fishing despite the wind. I saw you guys on 4 June pull in back into the Provo boat harbor. Gave you all a quick salute.

Pez-

Saw your outfit docked at LB today and it was safe and sound. Too much wind for me this a.m. but it looked like it was calming down a bit in the p.m. I'm guessing you should be good to go across the sea today.

That pontoon should be protected wherever it is docked. Would be hard to imagine anyone doing harm to a rig like that with the "Honoring our Vets" signs all over it. I would have made the effort to catch you for a hand shake if you would have been there.

Big thanks to you and the vets.
