Took my 4 1/2 yr old grandson to hit the lake for cats. Could not find one bite even in my go to spot for cats there. I usually can get the cats in that spot all day. No idea what is going on.

The lake was especially low last Fall and through the winter due to the low snow pack last year and the need for late summer irrigation... which is the purpose (irrigation) of the reservoir. I would guess that with the water so low for so long the cats needed to find another spot.
Bummer all around.

That may be it. Did not think of that. Went back out today and caught one 7 lb female full of eggs. The carp started spawning since Saturday also.

Lake Lowell carp don't interest me too much.... Rather go too the river and shoot 13+lb carp than 4-8lb carp at Lowell, but there are a ton of carp there...
