Strawberry Cuts
#1
Any idea's when the cuts will start moving in from the deep toward the shores to start putting on the feed bag for the winter.? I want to take a woman coworker up to strawberry to let her catch some nice size cuts for fun. She is a newbie to the sport. Thanks

Mid September through mid November. Mid September is when the water temperatures start to cool way down. The trout have been in the deeper cooler water all summer and when the surface water and shallow water start to cool, the big trout start to come up out of the deep and spend a lot of time cruising the shallows for chub. I look for water temps that start to approach 50°. It seams like, when the water temps drop to 50°, the bite really starts to turn on in the shallows.

I know many who start fall fishing much earlier than that but for me, best bang for the buck and effort starts mid September.

PM sent.
