Pine Tree Camp will host an Accessible Ice Fishing Extended Weekend Thurs., March 4 to Sun., March 7. Participants will fish on North Pond, which holds the state record for largest Northern Pike. Snowmobiles will be available for those interested in a scenic ride down the camp’s accessible nature trail network.
Pine Tree Camp’s modern, four-season cabin will be a home away from home for participants. The cabin offers plenty of accessible living space overlooking beautiful North Pond. With two large, fully-accessible bathrooms featuring roll-in showers and six comfortable bedrooms, the cabin can easily accommodate 20 people. A full kitchen and spacious living area make for great relaxing and socializing. Best of all, the cabin provides easy access to all that the 250-acre camp has to offer including more than a mile of waterfront access and a network of accessible nature trails.
The cost to attend is $150 per person. Price includes food, activities and lodging. A fishing license is not needed and all necessary equipment is provided. This event is geared toward adults with physical disabilities. We encourage participants to bring a family member, friend or care attendant.
For more information or to register, please contact Erin Rice at (207) 443-3341 or info@pinetreesociety.org. Additional information is available on www.pinetreesociety.org.
Accessible Recreation Opportunities for the 2004 spring season include Spring Fishing Weekend, Fri., May 21 to Sun. May 23. Registrations are now being accepted for all Opportunities.
