Got a lazy start today. Was getting gas and worms, and came out of the store, and it was RAINING !! So went to Stagecoach for breakfast. Was still raining some when I left, but by the time I got to WB north, it had stopped and the day was looking nice.

Launched about 0815, on the water and running zig-zags south bound along the west wall. Saw LOTS of fish on the sonar, but I think due to the almost full moon last night, and the rain this morning, the fish were just "there" but not interested in hitting what I was offering.

I did get one hard hit and run about 1020, and boated and released a nice Wiper.

Then I did something that I haven't done probably in several years. I trolled all the way around the majority of Willard. From the west wall directly across from the north marina, south to the light pole, south east across the bottom pocket, east along the south wall to about the feed lot, then north back up thru the middle, meandering around in the Openness, then a slow angle to the north east past the north marina, and anchored out off of Eagle Beach . Lots of PWC's coming out of the marina, but today, they behaved. Saw me and veered off well before crossing within the 150 feet range. A couple even SLOWED down going by. Boy !! Did someone hold an operators class ?? Got all settled at anchor, 2 lines out washing worms, and BANG !! One rod went bendo like it was hooked on to a south bound Front Runner. Boated and released another nice Wiper.

Then to cap off the day, a cute young Kitty came up on my hook to check out the air breathing environment. Was a perfect thru the lower lip hook up, so release was quick and easy.

The catchin wasn't fast and furious, and the ones caught were not trophy size or even very remarkable. But the day was nice,. the Skunk was kept out of the boat for another trip, and it sure beat the last several days in the relaxing arena.
Man, even the crowd at the ramp was behaved and lots smarter and better boat and trailer handlers than on numerous other days.
Topped of the day by doing a solid for another boater. Heading south on I-15, saw the back end of a power squadron vessel on a trailer. The 2 bright yellow ratcheting tie down straps were flapping in the wind. They had obviously been forgotten to be tightened down before hitting the road. I got up on that rigs right, honked my horn, and yelled at the passenger that their rear straps were loose. She acknowledged she had heard me, and I went on down the road. Don't know if they ever stopped and squared those straps away. But they were advised.
