Fished the fortune out of fishermans landing, caught over 250 yellowfin tuna for trip, helped some bucket listers bill 79 and Benny 78 from Illinois get fish after 5 or 6 they were done for the trip,i caught the most fish both days on cheap eagle claw 2 PC rods, some Cali guys bring 5 or 6 set ups worth 2 k,I rub it in with $20 dollar rods, all fish caught flylining sardines.i made the cover of 976tuna website, spent 15 nights on tuna boats this summer hard to come back and fish local.the 250 yf was boat total for 2 days for 24 anglers,I got about 30 yf a bunch of small yt and lost 2 dorado.if you have never caught a tuna and you like fishing you need to go do it.

Where is Fishermans landing? Sure sounds fun, its on my bucket list for sure. Hope its not too far down the list. What is fly lining? Is it best to take your own rod/reel? Thanks J

San Diego CA. Put a sardine on a hook and let him swim away in free spool. I use my own but you can rent rods and reels from the landing for around $20 a day.

Sweet so you aren't trolling for the tuna? How heavy of gear do you need? Line wt and etc. do they put weight on the lines? This sounds like a lot of fun. Thanks J

Sounds like fun. I assume those are from this spring's spawn so they haven't had time to accumulate much mercury yet. What's the limit on those little guys? Maybe the next time in So Cal I'll have to give it a try.
