How is Utah Lake?
#1
Hey yall
I'm looking at going fishing tomorrow but am not sure where to go. My first choice would usually be Utah lake after cats and carp, but I hear that the water is super low. Is Lindon Harbor a decent place to fish right now? or would another area of the lake be better?

Would we do better in a boat or from shore? Is fishing decent right now there, or would I be better off heading over to pineview/ east canyon?

Also are the carp at the surface/ near the shore enough to take the bow with us? Any suggestions where to go would be helpful.

Thanks for any help!

I went a couple of weeks ago and had some decent success at the Lindon Harbor. We caught a couple of big cats (they didn't want to stick around for pictures though), a couple of white bass in the healthy range, and one carp that we "graciously" returned to his home. We showed up late, around 7:30PM and were there till just after 10. We just used worms under a bobber.

Surprisingly, we didn't catch a single mud cat: just channels.

Took my boat out there last night out of Provo harbor. SHALLOW!!!! Only 2 1/2 feet until outside the jettys. Ran aground trying to get to the reeds at the mouth of Mud Lake. Finally headed over to Bird Island. Caught six channels there with only two of them nearing the 24" mark. Still gonna be good eats. Caught them on frozen chub minnows in about 2 - 4' of water on the south side of the island. Left just at dark and had one slow rough ride back to the harbor.
