Sorry I dont have pictures today.

Anyways, I just did a little casual fishing in the back yard for maybe 30 minutes. I did it around 5-6.

I managed to catch a small spotted bass, and a small rock bass, on a 1/8 oz black round head jig rigged on a small gold spinnerblade with a bright orange body and charteruese tail triple tailed grub. I fished it in mostly shallow water parallel to the bank, with a slow retrieve.

It was just lightly drizzling when I was fishing.

I really am glad I managed to catch something, because in the past few times I have taken a little time to fish, I struggle to even get a bite or strike. So the fish seem a little more active.

Also about 2 weeks ago, I caught a small carp, and 2 sunfish along the creek that runs along the golf course.

To conclude, based on the weather pattern(heavy thunderstorm tuesday), it seems like monday will have a chance to be good fishing.

Observation of the week: I went and fished the dam for a hour or so early last week, with no luck other than losing a new lure(shad immitator style). During this time, it seems like there are fish that are getting active snacking on baitfish in the eddy(calm water) right below the dam. Once this storm system clears out, I would not be surprised if fish begin to be more active(and thus perhaps the frog bite I keep hearing about may begin). This is mostly my speculation, based on literally no experiance, just information I have read.

Lastly, I have not seen any bass(other than spotted) in the creek. Nor have I seen any schools of shad, or baitfish.

I hope this weather cuts out on one of my days off. I really want to go on a expedition to check out cave springs along the N chick, and see what kind of fish I can find there(crossing my fingers, I might find some trout there, as the water should be colder, perhaps cold enough to allow some trout to hold over)
