Clearwater River
#1
Anyone been fishing or heard any reports on the Clearwater? We are thinking of going over in a week or two and fishing right around Orofino.

Fished yesterday and was fortunate to do well but big rain the previous night caused water to blow out and main was unfishable this morning. This is the fourth blow of the season and the river was fishing very good the week around Christmas before this recent cold spell. Should be good in three or four days. North Fork fish are pretty ugly and would not mess with them until they run water and new fish arrive which should be in two weeks with the current fill rate.

Got back late Monday. Fished Thursday afternoon through Monday morning. Fished from the NF on down to Peck. Hooked 2 and landed a whopper buck. My buddy hooked 6 and landed 3 (1 A-Run), and his dad never touched a fish. Tough fishing I thought. Bad timing though.

Oh, and I talked to a buddy that has been fishing the logyard since Wednesday. He has only hooked 1 as of about an hour ago. That's the only place he ever fishes though.

All reports have been excellent. I may head out today and give it a few hours. If I do, I'll give an update.

Just need to keep an eye on the river flows as it has been blown out a time or two this January. It is in excellent form right now though.

Here is the latest report...
