Spent the day at Causey. The only thing we saw was some skiers on the ice and 3 moose walk across the dam. Not a single fish on the ice or the fish finder. At least my 12 year old daughter got me back out on the ice.

I remember going to Causey last season on the ice after a good day at Pineview and got really lucky. After a few hours and several holes without seeing a single fish on the finder, a group about 50 yrds from us starting pulling fish out and fast! We ran over there, with their permission and starting fishing, pulling Kokanee out for about five minutes untill the school moved on. We even attempted to relocate the school with no success. They were there and seemingly disappeared within 10 minutes.
Sorry to hear about your no fish day. Bad days remind me how amazing a great day of fishing really is!

I have been the person several time that gets into a school and will invite others to move in a round in order to keep the school around longer. I've had schools last for over an hour and when it was over I was surround by nearly 30-40 people with fish laying everywhere. Today was not as fun.

Causey has been poor the last few years with the kokes only being 9 or 10 inches during ice fishing season. Could be you just missed the school or you were in the wrong place, most of the smaller koke lakes go through cycles, from what I have seen.
