I went crappie fishing for a few hours around noon today. The bite was a little slow for me but the warm weather was nice despite a pesky wind. I went to some areas I don't usually fish. I caught 8 crappie with 6 keepers with the largest being 12 inches...1 small bass...1 "big" drum...1 bream...and 1 "TARP" yellow perch ! The yellow perch was right at 11 inches to qualify - and it was heavy. The fish was a real "fatty". I caught it on a BG Pearl Chartreuse Baby Shad on a StandOut hook vertical fishing. I caught most of my fish casting in 5-15 feet with 1/32 oz. BG jigs on Road Runner jig heads. I didn't drown any minnows this trip. A pic of the yellow perch.

Some of the construction workers at HBSP told me about a 11 pound bass that someone had at the ramp Wednesday. They said they saw it weighed and having pictures taken. emoEek
