I was there yesterday, lots of boats trolling, don't know how they were doing. Bass fishing was tough.

I was also there yesterday. We trolled for three hours or so for trout with no luck. Take into consideration that we are rookies to trolling in general let alone Walcott. We tried various lures and speeds. We fished the last part of the day and were the last boat off. As we were putting in a couple boats came out. One boat had been trolling for trout and were skunked. The other was after bass and had some luck.

Fished it twice for a couple hours caught a couple each time. It is two weeks away from being good with only a foot of visibility. A friend caught 7-11 two times with a method only he can use which gives him a huge advantage when the fish are near the surface. Most of the fish were last fall's yearlings for me but my buddy caught ten or so at or above the 3 pound range. Fish are very healthy and doing really well. Can't believe we can catch any fish with the water conditions. Water temp was around 47 degrees which is good for this time of year.

Hopefully the weather gets better soon. I'm ready to get the boat out and do some trolling.

We fished it Saturday for trout about 3 hours not even a bite. Talked to a few guys fishing for bass and they said it was really slow. At the ramp talked to one guy with 3 trout said they were all caught at first light then not even a bite for the rest of the day they were trolling rapals . It will pick up in a few weeks. Those of you who caught fish i would appreciate any info your willing to provide as i hate the skunked days

Fishing was really good Friday as the water is much clearer. Mostly the yearlyings but six or seven of the big boys. American Falls was also really good yesterday as well with a little bigger overall fish than Minidoka. Water warmed from 44 in the morning to 49 by 3 in the afternoon when we left Walcot. Fish mostly with monofilimint rapala's 80 to 100 yards out. Hooked 8 or 9 with a lead core as well two colors in the water.

Any updated water temp from Walcott? Planning to hitting it 25-28th but debating if should go Walcott, American Falls or Strike... Any input appreciated.

They planted a whole bunch last fall, but the big girls seem to bee in the first cove on the north side. Just troll shad raps try different colors and sizes til you hook up. Red is hot right now. Post some pics.
