Snapper, Sheepshead, Hogfish: SW FL Fishbuster Dave
#1
[font "Arial"][size 2]I fished Tuesday with the John Link party, off New Pass, over live bottom. We caught a dozen keeper mangrove snapper, porkfish, triggerfish and porgies. We released lots of grunts. The kids on board were intrigued by a cowfish we also caught and released.

Rough seas were upon us again Wednesday and Thursday, but Friday was calm, and I fished with the Leonard White party at the 240 ledge, using live shrimp. We caught fifteen mangrove snapper to 15 inches, keeper triggerfish, whitebone porgies, sheepshead, and a 16 inch hogfish. we released gag grouper shorts, as well as two yellow-mouth grouper that were just a half inch short of keeper size, at 15 ½ inches. The next windy cold front arrived for Saturday and Sunday, so we remained in port. The attached photo is of an rarely seen fish known as a "guitar fish"--Worth posting just because of its unusual looks.
