Arrived at Solder Creek at 2pm on Sat. the 4th and fished until 7. We caught one little rainbow and a small kokanee at the mouth of the narrows. Sunday we hit the water at 6am and went back to the narrows caught another little kokanee at 35'. We trolled the east shoreline back up towards the marina and found some more small kokes and one cutthroat. I'm pretty sure I will be able to locate a few fish for the vets, I hope the fish will cooperate as well. Now for my rant, sorry. Why do I have to waste my time pulling over at the port of entry to have my boat inspected. This was my second time and all I did was fill out the mussel paper. No one inspected my boat, I didn't have to drop the motor or pull the cover off to have the fish hold checked. I believe the sign says mandatory watercraft inspection yet no inspections take place. Why isn't there a data base of boats that have launched at mussel infested lakes for the DWR officers to use. Grab there Ipad and input my hull number no results found I'm good to go. As the old saying goes "you can pay me now or you can pay me later". I get the feeling Utahs new outtake is we don't have the resources so we will just wait until all lakes are infected problem solved we no longer have to inspect boats.
