I got out today to look for some new areas to catch some "Big-G" Slabs for some up coming trips. I thought that since the front came in yesterday that the Crappie bite might be a little slow, but I was wrong in assuming so. The water had came up overnight and was still rising through the day, but the fish were still hitting and seemed to be schooling up more now. The north wind and the heavy current made the conditions tough to present the jig the way it needed to be, but when it got down to the 8-10 ft. depth and had the right structure, you got hit. My wife showed up later in the day and we went to some of the easier areas to fish, but the size of the fish in these areas were just a little smaller than the fish in the areas that had some thick cover around the current eddies. It's here so get out and enjoy it. Have fun, Mike Carter
