I must first apologize for venting but I hit Starvation today and was absolutely disgusted at how much trash was left on the ice by the bridge. There were empty soda cans, sandwich wrappers, cigarette butts, and bait containers in two different spots that had been fished. I picked up some of it as I was leaving and threw it into my sled. If I didn't have any pet peeves, I now do. You can bet the next person I see leaving behind a pile of garbage will be turned in. If you can't show respect for the great outdoors, then stay home. On a lighter note: Fishing by the bridge was incredible slow. Caught two nice rainbows but only saw about 5 fish on my fish finder in over two hours.

I agree. There is no reason why anyone should leave trash out on the ice. You haul it then haul it out. Believe me that if I see anyone polluting any lake that I'm on I will turn them in. [reply][/reply]

Thanks for picking up after people. I still don't understand why folks do that. Laziness? Apathy? Think the rules don't apply to them? I don't know. It does get old. This sort of behavior is what loses access for the rest of us. I've picked up trash with my kids in the past. We are in the habit of cleaning up after folks. It isn't that we enjoy it but I don't want to lose access to places that I love to use.

Thanks for picking it up. I was at the Starvation bridge today and saw very little trash. Your actions were appreciated. All I saw was some worm dirt and wax worm shavings. I know we need to vent sometimes, but if we are pro-active as you were my friend, we can still preserve our beautiful wild places. Thanks
The fishing was still slow. I caught 3 nice rainbows and a couple dinks that went back. There was one other guy on the ice at the bridge. He kept 4 rainbows and turned back several smaller ones plus on nice one. He also got several perch. All in all a nice day on Starvy.

I just experienced the same thing at strawberry this past weekend. I can't believe people can just leave their trash like that. I had my 5 gallon bucket full of cans, wrappers and bait containers. Come on people. If it's not good sportsmen picking up after you, it will be the dwr. Then we will have rate increases to pay for that.
