So I was going to head up to Pineview this weekend but it looks like the fishing has slowed. It appears Starvation is still pretty steady fishing. Is it worth it for the extra drive time to head out to Starvation or do you think this storm coming in this weekend will make the bite at Pineview pick up? Maybe the storm will make Starvation even better than it is now? What's your opinion? Any help greatly appreciated.

Has it slowed? We caught limits night before last.
But, Starvatiion sounds like a good option

Pineview has not slowed down at all for me I have been limiting out on crappie every weekend in an hour and a half I start at 5:30 and I'm off the ice by 7 but this Saturday I'm headed to starvation to give it a whirl and try and catch some perch and limit out on trout

You said you started at 5:30. Would you mind telling me if that was am or pm?

I heard Pineview slows at about 8:00am and is slow till almost dark? So earlier is better then? Is Starvation good all day?

Thanks, I suspected that. I usually leave Evanston about 3:30 am, so I can hit the ice about 5. Last year they stacked so thick before daylight, I couldn't even see separation on most of my graph. It's a bit nippy without a shelter, but it is such a pain to get one back up out at Cemetery.

I think this depends on conditions and weather. Some mornings yes, they stop early. Some mornings that means move a bit. Some days I hear about a slower, steady bite until noon or one.
At night they seem to start up again anywhere from 15:30 to just before dark and bite a few hours into night.

Okay I'm going to give Pineview a try and I will let you guys know how it goes. Anybody know where the hottest spot on the lake is? I have not been there in a couple years but I have heard there a lot of guys going by the dam?

I was at Starvation last weekend and its worth it. I got away from the crowds using 4wd and we caught enough decent perch for dinner. Lost the only rainbow due to light line at the hole. One little walleye.
I've been wanting to hit Pineview. I just might have to.
