Anvil at the gorge
#1
My fishing buddies and I are looking to head to anvil for lake trout Jan. 29,30,31. We have never been there before. We are wondering if any of you will be up there that weekend? Anyone willing to help with some rookies? Any advice? Places to go. What to use.

we fished it this week and marked very few fish and others were saying the same. ice is about 5 inches and alot of slush pockets, went to buckboard the next day and did alot better there. the ice conditions are better up that way also.

Thanks for the info. Rookie questions..... How deep? What to use? Were at the buckboard marina ? I've had people mention south buckboard, but I'm not sure where that is

Try trolling T55 perch Flatfish on copper line right on the bottom. I caught my first laker there, (25#).

Might be a little tough to do through the ice, but I guess you could take a chain saw and cut a trail. JK That is a great lure when you can use it, glad you got a good one. Later J
