Ice Flies
#1
What is the best way to rig up/ setup for ice flies when ice fishing? Do you use a sinker to get them down deep? Or tie on something else below them? Any advice is apprecated. Going to use them for the first time this weekend.

Many ice anglers use a hookless Kastmaster, Swedish Pimple, or other spoon as a weight/attractor tied on 12 to 14 inches above their lure. This will help get you down quickly and is easy to see on a fish finder. It also takes the slack out of your line so that a spring bobber can do its job.

You can also just use a lead weight attached to your line about 12" up. I've had good luck with that on trout and pan fish. It all just depends on how picky the fish are.

If you can get your hands on them get some tungsten ice jigs... heavier than lead, get down quick.
