just made it back from fish lake. we were there from Thursday until today. you couldn't ask for any better weather. it was awesome, nice and sunny and no wind. the ice was about 18 inches everywhere we went. there was some snow drifts towards the east side of the lake, but other than that is was spotty. we caught lots of fish every day. it was nice getting out of the junk air for a while. here are a couple of pictures. Does the beard help catch more fish? I was thinking about growing one out.

maybe or maybe not. it definitely helped from getting sun burned! it didn't seem to matter what we put in the hole, they were hungry. [cool]

Nice mess of fish! I see you have a Jiffy Propane auger. I bought one a few years back and have loved it!
Thanks for the report!

just curious: what's the use of the stringer?
We figure that we're in a natural icebox and just toss the fish on the ice/snow. I can't tell from the pics to be sure, but I can see that your stringer is tied off to something -- are you stringing the fish down a hole?

instead of throwing the fish on the ice, we use the stringer to keep them fresh until we clean them. [cool]

Nice report, where did you stay, camper or cabin. If I take my camper will I find a legal and easy place to camp?
