Gonna try pond fishing. Any hot ponds right now?? Never pond fished and wanna give it a try. Is it best to go morning and evening? Most active ponds in Davis county?? Just trying to get my boy to catch his first fish. We aren't picky. Thanks!!

If you are just looking to reel in a few fish then Kaysville Ponds are always a sure thing for little Bullhead and Sunfish and an occasional Channel Cat. Fish a small piece of worm on the bottom or under a bobber. That place is kid friendly with benches, trails and a bridge system to fish over the water.

My kids have had fun catching bullhead there and even hooked a turtle last spring. The State should be doing its yearly stocking of White Bass there and Bountiful pond soon, those are easily caught on Crappie jigs. I have only fished both in the afternoon and evening.

And don't forget that the daily limit on any Community Pond is two fish regardless of species.

I grew up right above Farmington pond...you can catch rainbows there all day with powerbait and salmon eggs a couple feet behind a full clear filled bobber. Check the DWR stocking report online and find out where they have been dumping fish. Good luck!

Agreed, Farmington pond can be a great place to fish. In fact i heard they planted wipers there not too long ago, can't remember exactly when. Interesting to see how they do there....

Great place to throw a streamer and learn to fly fish as well. Usually small h, but trout are plentiful.

Kaysville can be great as well, honestly never been a fan of Bountiful pond as the smell turns me off.

Dont bother with Jensen Park Pond in Syracuse, I have been skunked there more times than i care to admit. (i live next to it). I think the DWR is turning this pond into a pelican feeding farm[Wink]
