Catch of a Lifetime! 55lb keeper
#1
No more taking an hour to get across mantua. No more pooping out by the dam at hunnington. No more wishing I could take the porta-bote to the rock pile or the light pole. Christmas came early this year-

FACTORY DIRECT 2004 5HP 4-STROKE NISSAN OUTBOARD[cool]

I am proclaiming 2004 the year of the porta-bote; no water will go un-fished! Now all I need is someone to show me how to use this baby so that I don't ruin it.

p.s. does anyone have any instructions on how to build a stand for my new baby, I have named her Bertha.

Very nice! I'm glad you finally got a motor for the porta-bote. I do not know anyone with a nissan outboard, so you'll have to give us the skinny on how she performs. Good luck on your next trip out.

I've got a factory aluminum stand with wheels I'll sell you for a song and a dance. I've also owned a Nissan 25 HP outboard. It was a good motor at a bargain price BUT parts were a pain to get and it took a while to get them. Also you have to go to SLC to get it serviced. I think Marine Pro Products is the factory dealer and service center. Plus if it dies on you, not everyone will or can work on them but like I said, it was a pretty darn good motor.

Your first step to making that baby last is breaking her in properly. Follow the mfg's directions to a T. Use only petrol oil for break-in and switch to 100% synthetic afterwards. Use only quality gas and keep it fresh. And keep a fresh change of plugs handy. End each outing by running it at WOT for several minutes to burn out all the gunk.

Enjoy your motor!
