Seattle WA area fishing

I am vacationing with the family in Seattle, specifically just North of the University by Lake Washington.

Anyone fished from a pier either freshwater or Salt close around Seattle? I have the Grandkids, so just looking to get some action, doesn't matter size or species.

I have found several places online, but without visiting each don't know one being better than another.

Have basic gear for bass, crappie, etc., fishing with lures and bait. Heavy enough for 15 lb. fish.

Those places are always a good place to start.
