Deadwood trout limit discrepancy.
#1
Just a quick "be aware". The printed regs indicate the trout limit in Deadwood reservoir is 6 and is 2 in the tributaries, but the online fish planner says the limit is 2 in the reservoir and tributaries. I submitted a request for clarification, but I just wanted folks to be aware that the trout limit might not be clear to the fish cops either. Until it is clarified, be careful.

Thanks for catching that error and submitting a fix request. Looks like it has been fixed and reflects the actual rules now.

Much appreciated!

I'm not sure I completely understand your question... but I'll give it a shot!

The Idaho Fishing Planner - a mobile-friendly tool that is a wealth of fishing information. You can find all sort of information including rules, access, maps, stocking history, photos etc. Just type in a name of a water body to start searching, or browse them all. Filter the results on the left to select species, water type, geographic area etc... Very powerful!

Otherwise, the original post was to clarify that trout bag limits for Deadwood Reservoir are 6/day, while only 2/day in the Deadwood Tributaries (i.e. Deadwood River, Beaver Creek, Trail Creek etc...) For example, I looked up Deadwood Reservoir, then clicked on "Interactive Map Center". I used "Switch Basemap" to show the USGS Topo Map, and now I can see the names of all the tributaries to the lake:

Give it a shot!
