Finally got a chance to take my oldest daughter on the hammock camping fishing trip.

We drove over from Nashville late Tues morning and got on the water around 2. Was really looking forward to hitting the ledges but mother nature had other ideas with the wind so we ducked in a cove not far from the Nuclear plant. Caught a few shorties pretty quick then about 4 I hooked into this one in about foot and a half of water using one of my homemade chatterbaits with a 4in poured paddletail(seen in pic). Came in at 9lb 6oz and just over 25 inches. Upgraded my PB by just under 3lbs.

Even better than my fish was watching my daughter landing her PB (4lb-2oz) this morning like a pro. Whopper Plopper on a med rod and 12# test. She had the bug before this and now she's really hooked. Has already asked if we can squeeze in another trip before she goes back to UT next month. Now that she's proficient with a baitcaster she's wants to work on pitching and flipping so she's prepared for when the weedbeds are up.
