Launched outa Soldier Creek this morning at 7am and started searching for fish. We trolled over to the east side and then down towards the dam. We graphed a lot of fish but no takers. We trolled over towards the narrows and finally picked up a koke at 45'. We ended up losing 2 kokes and keeping 1, as well as a small rainbow. We only caught 1 cutthroat witch came in at 20". There was not alot of boats out today and makes me wonder if I was the last to know about the slow fishing. On a side note the main bathrooms are closed due to a lack of planning by the Heber forest district, restrooms are Honey buckets. Camp host said to complain to the Heber forest ranger to get problem fixed. My offer still stands to pitch in $50 towards the rental of a boat so someone can take some veterans fishing.

The wife and I spent the 13th thru the 16th at Strawberry staying in the Strawberry campground. We fished the Soldier Creek side, not so damn crowded launching the boat. Beautiful weather all three days we fished, kokanee bite wasn't bad and we ended up with enough for a fish fry with some friends and brought our limit home to smoke. Never caught a trout which is what I like when fishing the kokanee, the big chubs were sure out in force as we would see schools of the buggers swimming along side the boat as we trolled. Most of the kokes were at the 15 to 16 inch mark with several going 18.
