Strawberry 7/20/2016
#1
Ive been an avid reader of all the wonderful info here on BFT for a long time now, and my conscience finally got the better of me to finally start contributing.

Went to Strawberry on Wednesday afternoon, wondered if the full moon phase everyone seems to be talking about might produce fish a little better in the afternoon? (watched a Kokanee video by the informative fisherman that talked a little about moon phases and mentioned at full moon the afternoon bite might be better)

Started fishing at about 1:00 and fished until 6:00, trolled from strawberry marina into the narrows, about halfway to the SC side and back through. Ended up with 2 cutthroats, both in the slot, 2 Kokanee both about 16 inches, and 1 rainbow.

all fish were caught at about 55 ft, using same stuff as everyone else, pink dodgers with different squids, the Kokes were on a green glow squid i tied myself with a little spinner I took off another rig I had.

The only different thing I have been using that I havent read before is instead of gulp pink Maggots ( I have them and use them, but they seemed to do a lot better in May/June) is the Gulp alive Corn. The past few trips it has produced quite a few more fish for me.

I'd also like to thank everyone that has posted on here the things I have learned have been priceless in my quest to become a better catcherman. Hopefully I can contribute a little back and share the little bits of knowledge I have gained over the years.

Glad you're chiming in! I'm doing my best to learn more about the Summer fishing at Strawberry, and anyone and everyone who reports is adding to my knowledge, along with my trolling trips there...I, and many others, enjoy sharing some info about our trips, whether they were highly successful or marginal ... and I think we are all learning a little more from each other....or at least getting a good laugh![Smile] and I just might try your Gulp corn trick...tks ...
