Powell trip
#1
My family just got home from a week camping near Lone Rock at Lake Powell. I have fished there a number of times but this time I mainly fished off my kayak. I ended up with five species boated; cats, stripers, smallmouth, bluegill and walleye. Could not find any largemouth or crappie. The fishing wasn't as good as previous trips, but I was not able to go fish a lot of the steep wall areas I wanted to. The boat we had was primarily for tubing and skiing.

I did catch fish every day on anchovies and trolled swimbaits or cranks. Grilled fish every day for lunch was much better than a ham samich.
The kids in the group really liked being able to catch small stripers right off the shore in the evenings . Sorry, no pictures. I let my phone battery die down there and didn't touch it until the ride home.

Probably made for a much more enjoyable trip! Glad you caught a few, and was able to have them join you for a lunch date. Sounds delicious.
