Excellent video, but I wouldn't buy either...........

Step into the modern age and get one with a history. Very useful. Also, might as well jump up to one with a built in GPS........

A couple years back I bought the pro pack2 FL 18 Vexilar and I absolutely love it.I can run it all day and night for 18+ hours and it's still got like 80% battery life left! it fits in a 5 gallon bucket and the visibility on the Flasher is awesome.

Squarehog,

I'm glad you have enjoyed your FL-18, they are great units and a lot of people love their vexilars. It was just a little more than I wanted to spend, especially with the pro pack. Good luck this winter!

Thanks hooknhunter,

For now my handheld GPS will do the trick, but you're right, a guy could justify "jumping up" real quick when it comes to fishing electronics. Good luck on the ice!

Come on Mountain Man. It's called skim the paycheck. If your sneaky mama will never know. If she does find out you won't miss those things hanging between your legs. Yes I have a Vexilar 20 and you are right they are pricey but I feel worth every penny. And it's not really that bad being a Eunich!

Decided I just want to lay low, so I deleted this post. You all do what you want and have fun. If the question is to get a flasher or not, then do. Other than that, be happy....... [Smile]

Ice graph I have been looking at is a hummingbird helix five DI gps G2 (mostly) or a helix seven G2 . I want the GPS and down imaging. The ice version does not have the down imaging. I thought about buying the regular version then installing it in a hummingbird case for ice fishing and use the DI transducer. I have been using A non-ice graph for years . From what I have researched the G2 models look like they may have the auto chart like the helix 9 built to it now and for me that could be very useful . Target separation Is 2 1/2 inches which seems large but I could probably live with it .
My question is how fast response is the flasher mode ? and what other graph models are in use and how do you like them for ice (mostly) and non-ice. Thanks.
