Windrivers (From august)
#1
Sorry I'm way way late. Been very busy lately. Hit the windrivers for the second week of August with all my friends and fellow scouts. Started at Elkheart, had to hike way in cause of the stinkin rangers. Didn't get into the good fishing until day 3 once we got into the cross country stuff. But island lake didn't do us too bad. Most of the other lakes along that main trail there stunk. Except all of the little ponds from the rivers off the trails... Once we got over into the basins around wall and the cook lakes, the fishing fired up big time! Wall was full of goldens and only goldens who really loved flies! Once we got down to cook, we had every other cast kind of luck with any lure, and any fly. Mainly just brooks there, some goldens. While trying to find the spyder lakes, we found a couple un named lakes that were every cast was a fish kind of lakes! Those were an absolute blast! Hit around baldy, then down into the chain lakes fishing slowed down again. Those fish in there were big smart fish! As for pole creek, that place let us down big time! We heard really good things about it and couldn't catch any fish after trying for almost 3 hours. Got down pretty close to the trailhead again, the lakes we hit right out of there (forgot the names) did pretty good, but only right at dark, through the night, and first thing in the morning. Found some goldens in there as well as bows, cutts, and brooks. Overall we went 50 something miles, had a blast, saw no bears, and learned to never eat mountain house again! What a blast.

Again, I'm sorry for the delay of these many months since. I'll post pictures soon once I get them all downloaded and locate them.
