K, First of all, how the heck do you fish in an ice shelter?
LOL, so hubby and I are on our last strength, and warmth of fishing this afternoon, so we booted the kids out of the shelter, and went in to warm up. Matt had his big fat lounge chair in there, and I was sitting on a bucket. My pole was slightly too long to be entirely comfortable hooking any bites.
So I am sitting there, and the end of my pole jerks down, and as I go to pull up, we realize my pole really IS to big for the space, and rather than help me Matt starts giggling at the way I am trying to reel in my fish, and NOT fall off the bucket, and I get it to just where I am going to pull it out of the hole, and my line catches on the latch on the floor, and bye bye fishy. Meanwhile Mr. Smarty pants is still sitting over there in his big fat chair laughing. After that we pack up and come home, and I read on here that someone else catches a 17 inch trout right before leaving. That was MY trout......... Oh well. It was truly a hilarious experience.
