Hello there everyone! I have been very impressed with all of the up-to-date fishing reports and figure it's my turn to start contributing information on the fishing outings that I go on weekly. A coworker of mine and I decided to make a second chub run out to Scofield to see if we could stock up on bait. Temperature on arrival was 34° at 8 AM and there was only a skiff of snow on top of the ice. The wind was blowing pretty good but we got the ice tent set up with no trouble in the dam arm, and found the ice to be between 9-10 inches thick. In the four hours that we were there we caught A 5 gallon bucket full of chubs and two small snake Cutties. We were fishing in 17 feet of water and the fishfinder showed most of the activity within 3 feet of the bottom with a few fish coming in at mid-level. Small ice flies below a jigging spoon or just a plain jig head tipped with a nightcrawler seem to work great; I don't think they were too picky. Be careful out there everyone and good luck this weekend!
