I was considering swinging by devil's Creek. Does anyone know if people target kokanee? Or are people just after bows?

I am no expert having only fished it twice but I couldn't figure out Kokanee and ended up catching a couple among the many rainbows.

Thanks windriver. I keep wishing for a new and better place to catch kokanee. Rorie is still open.

I have fished Devil's Creek through the ice quite a bit and have only caught one kokanee. The one kokanee I caught was in spawning colors and if you look at the stocking reports for devil's creek the stocked kokanee are early spawners. So long story short Devil's Creek is a good place to ice fish but not for Kokanee.

Mackay is usually worth the drive if Ririe isn't fishable. For Kokanee anyway.

Mackay is worth the drive. I live in Idaho Falls and took the 2 1/2 hour drive last Friday. My son and I caught 21 Kokanee and one trout that was 21 inches. We smoked them up on Saturday and are waiting for Ririe to freeze.
Again Mackay is definately worth the trip. [signature]

Sounds like a good trip. The 21 inch trout catches my attention. I haven't targeted trout for a while on Mackay, but if there are some hitting that mark I might need to switch things up. Are bigger fish starting to show up more readily up there?

I wasn't targeting Kokes, but this guy might still be swimming around in there. Didn't hook into any silvers though. This was before Christmas.

Stopped off for a few hours yesterday on my way to see family. Always drive past but have never fished it. Only marked two fish in the four hours we were there with only one bite. 24 FOW whereas it seemed most others were fishing more shallow than that. So nice to get away from work though
