Some crawfish will let go when they reach the surface, but most will hang on and one can lift them into the boat. It is not uncommon to have to pry them off of the jig.

Ok, that's what I have noticed too, sometimes on the way up too, I've had very few make it to the surface but I don't fish it has much as you do. Good to also hear more slot busters are being caught.

Well I'm very jealous! I'm hoping to finally get up there after last week's fiasco with the boat trailer tires. Here's hoping I can find some. I'll throw in the jigs I have from ice fishing and see what we can come up with.
