It is totally open now.
Water level is even raising.
Thanks. I ended up taking the boat out yesterday, and ventured around to check out the lay of the lake. Ice free everywhere I went. No fish though. There seems to be an abundance of large shad outside the north marina.

We saw some of those also, it looked like the bald eagles were fighting over 1 that washed onto shore north of the marina

My buddy had, what I think to be a big catfish break his line, but his drag wasn't properly set.

For a January it's was a good day.
I was the old man on the shore trying to get something on my slip bobber.
I wish I would have brought my boat to scope out the lake. Did you see the island? Was it out of the water? I'm hoping to map that area.

We were jigging primarily. You should try a method that a lot of use use, it's called fligging. We slow troll the fligs we get from TubeDude at .5 mph, using cut bait. Just a few weeks ago and last month before it froze up we caught them vertical jigging but that did not work for us on Fri when we were out there.

Please pray that the golf courses don’t get shut down.
‘Those’ people that use them might buy a boat and help clog up our ramps if they can’t get out on the greens.
