East Canyon report
#1
I have been eating a lot more of the fish we catch lately and enjoying that change in our menu.

But got talking to Cookie and we realized we have never tried to eat a smallmouth bass. Also I had not been to East Canyon lately. So I wandered over a early a few days back to verify report of a good morning bite from the aforementioned bass.

Rumors were correct. Nice bite on some paddle tail jigs I threw in my pocket. Also on a crawcolored curly tail powerbait jig.Made a quick video and yup took a few home to fry up.

Got thumbs up from Cookie and Buckwheat on the fillets

Stomachs were full of little crawdads. Lots of small to med bass waiting to be caught

Remember: keep the lid on the worms, share your jerky, and stop by to say hi to Cookie and the Cowboy-Pirate crew

I agree about how tasty smallies can be, especially from cooler waters. Plus, they are so prolific and predatory that it never hurts to takes a limit home. Probably beneficial, in fact.

Glad you did well - Love smallies on the menu. I need to get up there and thin a few of them out!
